Executive Committee

  • Terry Azzopardi

    President

I’ve been at CSFC since 2009 when my son commenced playing footy at the Under 10’s Level. After one training session I became that team’s coach, and the rest is history. Previously, I had both kids enrolled in Auskick and took over that centre from Dean Ellis who later I was fortunate enough to again follow him as President of our great club.

In 2010, I took on the Vice President’s role until 2018, and 2019 stepped up into the President’s role.

Throughout the 15 years of involvement, I’ve also been fortunate enough to have numerous committee and coaching roles which have provided many a highlight. It’s been exciting to be part of the growth of the Lakers and see it evolve into what it is today and truly a club of choice.

Creating a safe and welcoming environment and a clear pathway for our young boys and girls has been a real highlight. Also being part of a committee that has overseen our transition to a Division 1 club on and off the field has been extremely satisfying. I also take extreme pride in starting the female football program back in 2015 with the first Junior Girls team and then being the first senior coach of our inaugural senior women’s team in 2017.

But the ultimate highlight for me is the people you meet along the journey. Throughout all the highs and lows, you make friends for life, which is what I cherish the most.

I love my footy and my Lakers, but sometimes, my day job operating my mortgage broking business does get in the way. Balancing footy and work can be challenging, but when it comes together, and I manage to help one of the kids I coached get into his or her first home, well I still get an absolute kick out of that!

See you all at the footy!

  • Matt Kropman

    Vice President

Currently in my 9th year with the club, I have been involved with CSFC since my children began playing for the Yellow, Blue, White and Black.

I have been involved with various roles over the years, most notably a trainer for one or more of the kids teams each year. Utilising my nursing background, I’m never too far from the action when there is an injury on the field.

Taking on the management of the Lakers Legends coterie group in 2018 was my first committee role, later moving into the Vice President role in 2019. Having survived the COVID years, I take enjoyment from seeing the development of players over their journey at the club.

With a passion for the game on the field, my strengths are in process, governance and strategic planning. I have a desire to see the club grow over the next 5 years to become the destination club of choice for both Football and Netball.

  • Michelle McKenzie

    Treasurer

Our family got involved with CSFC in 2015 when AR started in Under 10’s, Justin became the coach & I was the Team Manager thrown in the deep end, welcome to footy, community & volunteering, we haven’t looked back AR is now playing 18.5’s. We all do what needs to be done from budgeting to toilet roll refills, merchandise to vacuuming/mopping, barista to ground checks.

We have rekindled old friendships & made new lifelong friendships which we treasure. I enjoy the family & community of the club, everyone is welcome.

The work that went into creating our mission, values & code of conduct collaboratively has been rewarding & gives us a foundation to continue to grow & be the club of choice within our community where you feel safe.

Outside of the Lakers, I love our Richmond FC, scrapbooking & travel.

    Go Lakers!

  • Krystal Delanty

    Secretary

I've been involved with CSFC for about 10 years. My children participated in Auskick and have progressed through to junior football. I have 4 children playing from U9 to U18. I am also a member of the Senior Women’s team. I've always been an active volunteer for my children's teams, I enjoy getting involved with game day roles and I have also been a Team Manager.

When I first joined the committee, I shared the role of Communications and now my role is Secretary.

    My highlights at CSFC are:

    - Being brave enough to join the senior women's squad. I've made lifelong friends and most importantly had a lot of fun along the way.

    - Seeing the growth of our female junior teams is another highlight. Going from a couple of female players to now full teams is amazing.

    - Watching my own kids play if I'm not working.

What I love about CSFC and why I remain involved is our families and their children. We have created a great, safe community for all to enjoy and I love to see our Juniors and Seniors come together on training nights, game days and functions.

Outside of CSFC and my work, I love to cook, I'm pretty good at it. I love watching a bit of reality tv but most of all I love being a mum and spending time at home with the family.

  • Pat Cutropia

    Operations Manager

I initially started at CS when my daughter commenced participating in Auskick. She then progressed to junior football and so my journey at the Lakers began. Little did I know where the journey would take me over the years!

I have been with the Club since 2017 when my daughter Emily started Auskick.

    I became a Team Manager in 2019.

I joined the Executive Committee overseeing Operations in 2020.

I was also a Team Manager in 2021.

I still hold this position on the Executive Committee and am currently in my 4th Year.

Highlights have been watching my daughter progress and develop her football and social skills and making many friendships along the way. Also watching the progress of the club as a whole and it navigating sharply in the direction in which we have planned. We have a fantastic culture, and it is a great Club to be a part of.

I enjoy that our Club is a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. There are many great people involved and I love watching so many young boys and girls doing what they love on the footy field. Watching them transition from juniors to seniors is very satisfying and confirms the pathways they have available, and that the Club is doing so many things right!

I remain involved as I love that I have an opportunity to help shape what this club can become. We are only a young club and so we are building it in the way we believe will benefit our children and community for many years to come. I am proud of what we have achieved thus far and through lots of hard work can’t wait to achieve our goals.

Outside of footy my passions are………..footy! I’m a tragic Essendon supporter and try and get to as many of their games as I can.

I also run an Electrical business and a Test & Tag business which I’m passionate about and they keep me very occupied also.

  • Shaun Rainer

    Director of Football

I have been involved for 7 years as a junior coach and this year moved into the Director of Football position as part of the exec and also as a Senior Assistant Coach of our Senior Men’s Team.

Coaching two premierships with the junior laker girls in 2017 & 2019 has been a highlight and along the way making some great friendships.

I love the people and the One Club culture at our club. Everyone feels comfortable as part of the Lakers and valued.

I’ve remained involved over the years because I haven’t learned how to say No! But I love it!

Outside of footy, some of my passions are family, travel and getting out for a ride on the bike.
