Exciting news for our U18's program with Kayden Hopkins and Maverick Plonsker back in Lakers colours for another year! Since joining us in 2024, Kayden has slotted right into division one football and is a reliable defender with a strong team-first mentality. Maverick has been with us since 2019 and is a strong running half-back/midfielder who will look to share his experience with our young side in 2026. Excited to see both in action in 2026 🙌

A reminder that The Mouthguard Man will be at the club this Wednesday, 18th February, from 5pm to 7:30pm. This will be your only opportunity to purchase a custom made mouthguard at the clubrooms. We will also be holding another jumper fitting on this night for players yet to be fitted for their 2026 guernseys. We're excited to announce that Stephanie Asciak and Molly Eastman have re-committed to the Lakers for 2026! One of our first ever female players, Steph has been part of the Lakers since 2015 and has gone from strength to strength in her football journey. Amongst Western Jets and VFLW commitments, Steph was an integral member of our inaugural Senior Women's premiership side in 2022 and has continued to make her mark in the VFLW system, culminating in her captaincy of the Bulldogs side in 2025. Whilst Molly was aligned to the Lakers in 2025, her VFLW commitments meant that she is yet to debut for the club. She brings with her years of footy experience across all levels, having previously captained the North Melbourne VFLW side. She played 20 AFLW games with both Sydney and Richmond before joining Collingwood's VFLW side in 2025. In 2026 she will return to North Melbourne VFLW and hopefully have a few games in Lakers colours too! We're thrilled to have these two stellar role models in our women's program and excited to watch them do their thing in 2026 💪 If you're looking to join us for 2026, it's not too late!
