Our annual ANZAC Spirit Match acts as a reminder of our fortune to live in this country, and the values in mateship and courage passed down to us by those who fought. Each year, we commemorate this special occasion and award a player from each of our senior teams the ANZAC Spirit Medal for their courage, grit, determination and mateship shown on field. After lots of hard work during the pre-season, we’re so excited to have our juniors back playing footy and ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. We have six home games on Sunday, with five at Town Centre Reserve and one at Brookside Recreation Reserve. 📣 📣 📣 SENIOR FIXTURE ANZAC WEEKEND 📣 📣 📣 Join us on Saturday, April 26th, as we present our annual ANZAC Spirit Match alongside the Caroline Springs RSL Sub Branch. Our senior sides will don newly designed ANZAC guernseys to commemorate the occasion. Before that, our Thirds will be down at Braybrook tomorrow night as they kick off their season with a special ANZAC Day clash. On Saturday, Our U18.5 Girls will be away from home, as they travel to Gisborne for their round three match, while our Reserves Women will head into the weekend with a bye. All other sides will be at home, with the first match kicking off at 8:30am. This has become our biggest match on the fixture in recent years, so make sure you get down to Town Centre Reserve and cheer on our senior teams! Round 1 is officially here! With the first 3 weeks of grading all done and dusted, our senior netballers are now officially starting their season! We are very lucky to have all teams playing this Friday under the one roof at State Netball and Hockey Centre in Parkville. This round is a significant opportunity for us all to come together in respect and remembrance. Would be great to get as many Lakers supporters down to support our senior teams. UPGRADES FOR CAROLINE SPRINGS RECREATION RESERVE We were delighted to be visited last week by local Labor candidate for Gorton, @aliceforgorton, and Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Richard Marles, as they delivered some exciting news for our club. A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will provide $186,000 to deliver a lighting and scoreboard upgrade for Caroline Springs Recreation Reserve. We’ve seen significant growth in women’s and youth participation over recent years and this $186,000 election commitment will help the club to keep up with that growing demand.
